Okay, my Aphasia is transient. I do not have aphasia all the time. I had a head injury years ago and the older I get, the more I have trouble speaking. I’m not sure what triggers it, but I’m thinking maybe tiredness or stress. Not having it all the time makes it hard to work on speech exercises being I never know when it will happen or where.
Your commet please. I have aphaisa all the time.

My story begins in Sept. 1983. I rolled the pickup I was driving along with my 2 boys. We went thru the windshield. I had a fractured left scapula (they had to tape my arms together. Bilateral Bells Palsy…surgery at the mastoids. I had a TBI as a basal skull fracture…ear to ear with a C1 fracture (never has healed properly. In consultation for gastric surgery, the doctor commented twice that I should have died! (or paralysis, neck down) Problems with aphasia are becoming worse getting older. I can’t over extend myself…get tired…or work a job dealing with the public. People think I should be ‘over it’. I must rest and have quiet. Journaling helps. As you can tell, my cognitive skills are ok; however, having communicative aphasia can leave me unable to remember a certain word. I have seizures that I call ‘storms’…when they end, it is like the sun coming out. I picked this post because I haven’t had a stroke. Would love to hear what you are enduring.
